Havahart® Deer John Contest: Official Rules
Purpose
The purpose of the Havahart® Deer John Contest is to engage Havahart®’s Facebook Fans with a fun activity which rewards one grand prize winner with a $500 Visa gift card, one 2nd prize winner with a $250 Visa gift card, one 3rd prize winner with a $100 Visa Gift card and 5 4th prize winners with a Deer Off® II Deer, Rabbit and Squirrel Repellent Prize Package.

Who can enter?
You must be eighteen (18) years of age as of the starting date. You must be a legal resident of the fifty (50) United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico to enter. Anyone over the age of 18 may enter the Havahart® Deer John Contest, but only fans of the Havahart® Facebook Fan Page are eligible to win the prize.
How to participate:

2. If you’re fed up with deer invading your yard and destroying your gardens, we want to hear about it! Our contest rules are simple: just write and submit an impassioned, heart-rending “Deer John” letter, song, story, or poem, or submit a video link or photo, to let us know why you’ve decided it’s time to break-up with Bambi.

Submission and Winning Restraints
Participants may submit one entry. An additional entry can be earned for each friend referral if the contest is shared through the platform and the friend also submits an entry.
Stages
Submission Phase – 7/22/2015 at 11:00am EST until 9/13/2015 at 11:59pm EST.
During this phase, the contestants may submit an entry on the Havahart® Deer John Contest Facebook Tab.
Selection Phase & Winners Announcement – The selection phase will be held 9/14/2015 through 09/30/2015. Winners will be announced before 10/7/2015.
During this phase, Havahart selects and announces the Winner of the Havahart® Deer John Contest based the 8 most heart rendering, creative Deer John letters.
Contest Terms and Conditions
Please read the official rules and regulations below. By entering the Contest, you (“You”) accept these Official Rules.
These are the Official Rules of the Havahart® Deer John Contest. The purpose of the Havahart® Deer John Contest is to engage Havahart®’s Facebook Fans with a fun activity which rewards one grand prize winner with a $500 Visa gift card, one 2nd prize winner with a $250 Visa gift card, one 3rd prize winner with a $100 Visa Gift card and 5 4th prize winners with a Deer Off® II Deer, Rabbit and Squirrel Repellent Prize Package valued at $43 each. The winners will have their name featured across Havahart®’s online social media channels. The winner’s name and location will also be used on all Havahart® digital properties, including but not limited to Havahart.com, Community.Havahart.com, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
1. ELIGIBILITY
Entrant must be a legal resident of the fifty (50) United States, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, who is eighteen (18) or older at the time of entry. Anyone over the age of 18 may enter the Havahart® Deer John Contest, but only fans of the Havahart® Facebook Fan Page are eligible to win the prize (defined in Section 8 below). The following persons are not eligible to enter the Contest: employees and directors of Havahart®, and people who are involved in any way with the Contest. No purchase is necessary to enter the Contest and no preference will be given due to purchases. By entering, You agree to these Rules and warrant that you are eligible to enter the contest and Your Submission (defined in Section 3 below) complies with these Official Rules.
THE CONTEST IS VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
2. PROMOTIONAL PERIOD
Submit your Submission between 7/22/2015 at 11:00am EST until 9/13/2015 at 11:59pm EST.. The Havahart® Deer John Contest Winner will be announced before October 7, 2015.
3.HOW TO ENTER
4. To enter the Havahart® Deer John Contest, You must submit a Deer John letter, poem, story, song, video or photo in the registration form. Your Submission must comply with the requirements set forth in Sections 4 and 5 below. The Entry is free for anyone to enter. To win the Contest, you must be a fan of Havahart® by clicking “Like” in Havahart®’s Facebook Page (http://www.facebook.com/havahartbrand). To enter the Contest, You also must accept these Terms and Conditions and Havahart®’s Privacy Policy (http://www.havahart.com/customerservice/privacy-policy).
When you submit (upload) your submission online, the Submission will be viewable to Havahart®’s employees and people involved in running the Contest . Once you have submitted your answers, the Submission form will not be returned to You. Submissions may be disqualified at any time for non-compliance with these Official Rules. Havahart® makes the final determination as to which Submissions are eligible to take part in this Contest and which Submissions will be considered for the prize. Havahart® will not notify you of any disqualification or the reasons for such disqualification.
ANY ATTEMPT TO ENTER THE CONTEST EXCEPT AS PROVIDED ABOVE IS VOID.
5. REPRESENTATIONS AND WARRANTIES; INDEMNIFICATION
You represent and warrant that: (a) you are eligible to enter the Contest; (b) you have complied and will comply with these Official Rules in connection with your participation in the Havahart® Deer John Contest; your Submission complies with all of the requirements of Section 4 and 5 above. You shall indemnify, defend, and hold Havahart® harmless from any losses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from any third party action asserting a breach by you of any representation, warranty, or obligation in these Official Rules.
6. PRIZES
Grand Prize: $500 Visa Gift Card
2nd Prize: $250 Visa Gift Card
3rd Prize: $100 Gift Card
4th Prize: 5 runner-ups will receive a Deer Off® II Deer, Rabbit and Squirrel Repellent Prize Package
The Havahart® Deer John Contest Winners can expect the prize to be mailed to them within two (2) weeks after the winners are notified.
If the prize is returned as undeliverable, if You reject Your prize or in the event of noncompliance with the Contest Terms and Conditions, such prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected from all remaining eligible entries. Upon prize forfeiture, no compensation will be given.
7. RULES CHANGES
Havahart® reserves the right to change the contest rules at any time (deadlines, stages, prizes).
All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of you and Havahart® in connection with this Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the United States of America, without giving effect to the conflict of laws rules thereof, and all proceedings shall take place exclusively in the United States of America.
